What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is the art and science of supporting the body to heal itself using the power of nature. It seeks to identify the underlying causes of your health concern, not just treat the symptoms, and provide the tools and guidance to support your journey to optimal wellness.
Naturopathy is holistic in nature, recognising that optimal wellness is influenced not only by physical factors such as what we eat or how we move our bodies, but also by our mental and emotional health and environmental factors either at home or work.
About Hawthorn Natural Health

Kia ora! I’m Wendy from Hawthorn Natural Health. I’m a naturopath, nutritionist and medical herbalist. I would love to support you on your health journey, using traditional naturopathic practices integrated with research-based care. I believe in meeting you where you are at, developing a wellness plan that works for you. Using dietary and lifestyle recommendations and natural therapies to create sustainable change.
I studied for five years with the Naturopathic College of New Zealand and I hold an Advanced Diploma in Health Science (Naturopathy & Nutrition). I am a member of both the Naturopath & Medical Herbalists Association of New Zealand (NMHNZ) and the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists (NZAMH).
Originally from Scotland, I live in Tauranga with my husband and two children. Previously I worked in the National Health Service in Scotland in a number of roles over my 20 year career, mostly training, coaching and managing staff, and I hold a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a development coaching qualification.
As a naturopath I will always work within my own scope of practice, alongside your GP and any other health professionals you visit to ensure an integrated approach.
I look forward to meeting you and working in partnership with you to address your health concerns and enhance your wellbeing.
